Managing Requirements/ User Stories in an Agile environment
Summary:
An Agile development methodology attempts to simplify some interactions between the stakeholders by focusing on communication rather than documentation. However, in many contracts the BAs need to be able to document requirements. This can be complicated in an Agile project due to the incremental nature of Agile development. With some understanding of the principles of Agile development as well as stakeholder needs, it can be possible to manage this effort.
Bill will review the complications of requirements document in an Agile project and discuss requirements / story management. Specifically the presentation will cover:
• Managing requirements as User Stories and ensuring the incremental changes are not lost
• Examples using JIRA and Confluence
• Using test cases to document as-is functionality
• Stories, Enhancements, Increments, Bugs - tracking them all to maintain a coherent requirements set
