Every company performs business analysis, whether they have dedicate Business Analysts or not. Companies may not label the specific activities as 'business analysis', but these activities are crucial to the success of any project. When the need for a dedicated Business Analysis function is realised, how do you go about establishing that role, and making it a crucial part of a company's structure and a contributor to future success? Through this presentation we will explore some of the challenges faced when introducing and establishing the BA role within an organization, and some of the steps taken to overcome them.

About Speaker, Andy Love:
Following graduation from the University of Abertay Dundee and after spending a year as the University's Student Association President, I joined the graduate scheme at British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), one of the UKs largest TV/media organisations. I spent two years experiencing all aspects of the software development lifecycle, before finally settling on a role as Business Analyst within the Customer Business Systems department, focusing on large-scale CRM projects. After 5 years at BSkyB, with a spell at Skyscanner, one of Scotland's unicorn companies, in between, I took up a role at FanDuel as the company's first Business Analyst in 2013. Joining the organisation with around 80 employees across 2 offices in the UK & USA, I witnessed the company grow to over 500 employees across 7 offices by the end of 2015. My role is now Director of Analysis and I am part of a team of 6 Business Analysts in the Product Development team.
